Thanks to Holly who commissioned me to make lamps from her retired riding boots. It was a journey! to add the stability and strength to the boots we created a platform of solid wood, the boots were then given a rod inside for the lamp holder and filled with expandable foam. Small lampshades added height and create an ambient light. Finally Holly's retired horse whip was cut and arranged around the boots every part of the whip was used.
I love the way we kept the age and the history of the boots, with a steam punk feel but with an added luxury. Holly Loved them and so did I . Melanie Winning
